Pievebovigliana hides two meanings in the etymology of his name,consisting of two words:"pieve" and "bovigliana". It is believed that the first is to witness the presence of a pieve already existing from the 11th century, the second refers to an ancient word related to the presence of Gauls in the area. An enchanting town rich in monuments such as the church of San Giusto in the ninth century, in the hamlet of San Maroto, the church of the Holy Crucifix wished by St. Francis, the castle of Beldiletto, started by Giovanni Spaccalferro in 1380 , Queens and popes like Julius II. The Romanesque crypt of the church of S.Maria Assunta, one of the most famous Romanesque monuments in the Marche, is awesome.
